Milk Can Clicker runs five systems that unlock in sequence — farm, dairy, village marketplace, prestige, then the city and its cafe — and the loop is the same at every stage. Click cows for raw milk, sell it, buy upgrades, automate, turn raw milk into products, fill orders, earn reputation, prestige, start again stronger.
Two rules cut across all five, and both cost you real progress if you meet them late. They are worth knowing before the systems that introduce them.
Automation pays full reputation and a tenth of the money
Both of the game’s delivery automations — Lieferhilfe on the village marketplace, and the Cafe-Lieferservice in the city — settle orders on their own roughly every five seconds. Both pay full reputation and only 10% of the money a manual delivery would have given.
That is not a drawback to work around, it is a choice to make deliberately. Automate when what you need is reputation and idle progress. Deliver by hand when what you need is money. Late in a run those are different goals, and the same order pays very differently depending on which way you close it.
Both automations have their own on/off switch, so you can leave them running for reputation and pause them when you are saving for a specific manual delivery.
Auto-selling will empty the stock your orders need
Early on you can sell nearly all your raw milk, because nothing else consumes it. That stops being true the moment the dairy opens.
From then on raw milk is an input, not a product: V-milk, butter and cheese are all made from it. Those three are in turn what market and cafe orders ask for. An auto-seller left running at full tilt will happily sell the exact stock an order needed.
The working rule is to auto-sell only down to the level that still leaves enough raw material and enough finished product for the next step you are working toward. Each product has its own auto-sell toggle for precisely this reason, and the auto-seller can never usefully sell more raw milk than your auto-milker produces anyway.
Reputation and Max Reputation are two separate numbers
Reputation is a currency. You spend it on market stalls and market upgrades, and it goes down when you do.
Max Reputation is the total you have ever earned. Spending never reduces it, and it is the number the city and its buildings check. Your current reputation sitting well below your Max Reputation is the normal state of things, not a problem.
Offline progress is capped at one hour until you extend it
Without prestige investment the game credits at most one hour of offline progress. The Betriebsreserve prestige upgrade raises the ceiling in steps: one hour, two, four, eight, then one day, three days, and seven days at the top.
Setting your system clock backwards significantly can cause offline earnings to be withheld as a safety measure.
The farm: eight cows
You start with Berta and buy the rest one at a time, at rising prices:
| Cow | Cost |
|---|---|
| 2nd | 40 |
| 3rd | 150 |
| 4th | 600 |
| 5th | 2,500 |
| 6th | 10,000 |
| 7th | 40,000 |
| 8th | 150,000 |
More cows raise both manual and passive milk production linearly, so a full herd is a significant multiplier — but it does not substitute for farm upgrades.
There are four farm upgrades, and they appear gradually rather than all at once. Milch pro Klick raises what a manual click yields, to a maximum of level 25. Verkaufspreis raises what raw milk sells for, to level 30. Auto-Melker generates raw milk on its own, to level 15. Auto-Verkäufer sells it on its own, to level 10.
A sensible order is the second cow and a few levels of click yield first, then sale price so that further purchases fund themselves faster, then the auto-milker built up before the auto-seller. Around 50,000 money the dairy becomes the thing to aim at, so a raw milk reserve is worth building before you get there.
Critical milking
The base chance of a critical click is 0.5%, and a critical yields ten times the normal amount. Cow traits, Frieda’s growth, and the Crit+ prestige upgrade all change that system. Individual cow traits become fully relevant once you have your first auto-milker.
Each cow does something different:
- Berta — a flat +1 milk per click.
- Lotte — +0.10 percentage points of critical chance.
- Molly — critical milking gets an extra multiplier.
- Klara — 6% chance of 3 extra milk.
- Frieda — half critical chance, but every critical she lands permanently raises her own click yield.
- Elsa — a flat +0.5 milk per click.
- Alma — 12% chance of 1 extra milk.
- Nelli — never crits at all; her bonus depends on how much you have clicked the others.
Nelli is gated by your least-clicked cow
Nelli does not total up the herd’s clicks. What counts is the least-clicked of your other cows.
For every complete shared step of 100, Nelli gains +1 milk per other cow you own. With all eight cows and at least 100 clicks on each of the other seven, that is +7. At 200 clicks each it is +14.
The consequence is that one neglected cow holds back the entire shared step, however much you have clicked the rest. If you are chasing Nelli’s achievements, click the other seven as evenly as you can.
The dairy
The dairy unlocks at 50,000 money, and can later be kept permanently through the prestige shop. Clicking the building opens the workbench.
Products unlock through the Manuell herstellen row: V-milk at level 1, butter at level 3, cheese at level 5. Their base raw milk costs are 100 per V-milk unit, 500 per butter unit and 1,000 per cheese unit — before batch size, yield and efficiency change the real totals. Yoghurt and cream are visible in the workbench as later products but are not part of the active progression yet.
The workbench has six rows:
- Manuell herstellen unlocks products and raises the amount per manual batch. Scales to level 100.
- Auto-Herstellung makes unlocked products automatically, with a separate on/off switch per product. Maximum level 10.
- Manuell verkaufen unlocks direct product selling and raises the quantity sold. Scales to level 100.
- Vertriebslinie opens the per-product auto-sell switches — line 1 V-milk, line 2 butter, line 3 cheese. Auto-sell sets the rate per second and caps at level 10.
- Ausbeute improves output. There is a general yield level plus a separate one for each of V-milk, butter and cheese.
- Effizienz cuts how much raw milk is consumed, which matters most once butter and cheese are eating large volumes. The Effiziente Verarbeitung prestige upgrade lowers it further and permanently.
Whether to sell directly or stockpile depends on where you are. In the early dairy, direct selling funds the next workbench levels. Before the marketplace opens, save V-milk, butter and cheese instead. Once market and city are running, auto-sell only the products you hold a comfortable order buffer of.
The marketplace unlocks once Manuell herstellen, Auto-Herstellung and Vertriebslinie are each at least level 1 — or later, permanently, through the prestige shop.
The village marketplace
The marketplace turns dairy products into money and reputation. The first milk stall slot opens automatically when you unlock it.
There are three stalls, each with up to two order slots, for six parallel orders in total. The milk stall handles V-milk orders and is where you start. The butter stall costs money and 8 reputation; the cheese stall costs money and 20 reputation.
Orders come as small, medium or large, and later as combination orders covering several products. Bigger and combined orders need more goods but pay more money and reputation. Delivering quickly by hand can earn an additional time bonus. A slot with no order available shows the remaining wait instead.
Four upgrades apply here. Bessere Kunden adds 10% to the money reward per level. Lebhafte Nachfrage shortens the wait for new orders, to a maximum of level 5. Kombi-Aufträge enables multi-product orders and needs at least two active stalls. Lieferhilfe automates matching completed orders and only becomes available after five orders have been finished.
Lieferhilfe unlocks products by level: V-milk at 1, butter added at 2, cheese at 3. Levels 4 and 5 are reserved for products that do not exist yet.
A reasonable order of business: fill the first milk slot regularly, unlock the butter stall and then the cheese stall, build all three for the quest and the first extra prestige point, improve wait times and customer value, add combination orders and further slots, then raise Lieferhilfe for passive reputation. Building the market out fully is what makes Händlernetz reachable in the prestige shop, and Händlernetz is what the city requires.
Prestige
Prestige ends the current season and converts its progress into prestige points. Season value counts money earned, resources and products held, quests, dairy progress, market orders and later city progress.
The first point needs a properly built-up run, and later points come at rising thresholds. Prestige-Power lowers those thresholds permanently, by 2% per level.
Every prestige point you have ever earned also pays a standing bonus of +5% milk production, +5% sale revenue and +3% passive production. Spending points does not remove them from that total, so the bonus never goes backwards.
Without the matching shop upgrades, a prestige resets money, raw milk, farm levels, many dairy levels, market progress, reputation and city buildings. What the shop actually buys is exemptions from that reset, or a stronger start after it:
- Keeping what you had — Kuhmania keeps extra cows; Auto-Milch and Auto-Verkauf keep automation levels; Karte-Molkerei and Karte-Dorfmarkt keep map unlocks; Manuell herstellen+ and Auto-Herstellung+ keep workbench levels.
- Starting further along — Start-Upgrades begins with extra click-yield levels, Verkaufs+ with extra sale-price levels, Saisonstart with milk and money in hand.
- Cheaper rebuilding — Schneller Neustart lowers farm upgrade costs, Fehlstart and Molkerei-Aufbau lower dairy costs.
- Raw output — Super Kuh doubles every cow’s output, Super Klick makes manual clicks count several times, Crit+ raises critical chance, Effiziente Verarbeitung permanently cuts raw milk consumption, Betriebsreserve extends the offline cap.
- Market permanence — Stand-Milch, Stand-Butter and Stand-Käse keep stall slots; Kombi-King keeps combination orders; Liefer-Hero keeps Lieferhilfe levels; Marktruf raises delivery rewards and reputation gain; Händlernetz is the gate to the city, and only becomes visible once the marketplace is largely complete.
- City permanence — Konstruktion-Master keeps one more city building per level; Bekannt preserves Max Reputation; Bekannt+ preserves spendable reputation too.
Which of these to buy depends on what you are trying to do. For faster fresh runs, Kuhmania, Start-Upgrades, the map unlocks and Betriebsreserve pay off early. For reaching the city, market slots, Liefer-Hero, Marktruf and Händlernetz matter more. Once you have built the city once, Konstruktion-Master and both Bekannt upgrades gain a lot of value, because without them you rebuild the whole city every season.
The city
The city opens when two conditions are both met: Händlernetz bought in the prestige shop, and at least 250 Max Reputation.
The eight buildings must be built in a fixed order, each changing the city view and granting a bonus for the current season.
| # | Building | Cost | Max Reputation | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Stadt-Molkerei | 1bn | 250 | +25% milk production |
| 2 | Stadt-Marktplatz | 5bn | 400 | +25% order rewards |
| 3 | Cafe | 9bn | 600 | Unlocks city delivery orders |
| 4 | Hafen | 18bn | 1,200 | All order timers −10% |
| 5 | Residenzen | 36bn | 2,000 | Manual clicks produce triple milk |
| 6 | Bahnhof | 65bn | 4,000 | Order timers a further −15% |
| 7 | Rathaus | 80bn | 8,000 | +25% reputation from delivery orders |
| 8 | Bank | 100bn | 16,000 | +25% money from sales and orders |
The Stadt-Molkerei and Stadt-Marktplatz double as direct links back to their respective maps.
Without Konstruktion-Master, every one of these is lost at prestige. Each level of that upgrade preserves one more, in build order.
The cafe’s two slots
Building the cafe opens an order slot carrying two products, occasionally three. After you complete one, slot 1 needs 666 seconds before the next is ready — a wait the Hafen and Bahnhof both shorten. Cafe orders pay considerably more than ordinary market orders and give reputation as well.
The second slot costs 12 billion and is deliberately not a quick extra. Its base wait is 999 seconds, it needs 25% more product, and it has a 25% chance of asking for three products instead of two. It suits a well-automated dairy with real stock behind it.
The Cafe-Lieferservice automates them: level 1 at 10 billion handles slot 1, level 2 at 100 billion adds the large second slot. It checks roughly every five seconds and can be paused from the vehicle icon on the city map. As above, it pays full reputation and a tenth of the money.
With the Bank built, the current main quest line is finished. What remains after that is optimisation, prestige points, cafe orders and achievements.

Getting to 100%
Most of the list comes with ordinary progress. The ones that need deliberate handling are the volume achievements and Nelli’s pair.
Click the cows evenly, or Nelli’s shared step never advances. Pause auto-selling whenever a production or order total is what you are short of. Use manual market and cafe deliveries when you want money and the two automations when you want reputation. Buy the permanent market and city bonuses before grinding many more prestiges, and protect the city with Konstruktion-Master, Bekannt and Bekannt+ so you are not rebuilding it every season. For the large quantity achievements, leaving the game running with sensible product toggles set is the whole technique.
One caveat on imported saves: Steam achievements are not credited blindly from an imported file. If the requirement was met in an older or foreign save, a fresh verified action in the current game may be needed before it registers.
